Back to Basics - Part 5: "In His Presence" | Pastor Boniface Mgonja

Key Verse: Exodus 33:15
"Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here."
If God's presence is not with us we are no better than a 'social club'...
We need to allow His presence in our life!
We need to be open and listening - sometimes we don't get the answers until the late hours of the night, after praying for days, weeks, months or years...(be patient and trust His timing!)
Exodus 33:12-14
12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
- Hard times will come but you will feel peace and settled when you have His presence in your life.
"But God was with Joseph..."
- everything Joseph faced, he was able to get through and overcome because of God's presence!
In every situation we need God's presence:
- "...But God was with Bethel..."
- "...but God was with me/you..."
Exodus 33:16
16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
- What makes us distinct is God's presence
His presence refreshes and renews us... brings us new strength!
- How can we lead worship without God's presence?
- How can we do anything God wants us to do without His presence?
2 Chronicles 5:13
13 The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang:
“He is good;
his love endures forever.”
Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud,"
God, we can't move forward without your presence in this church and in our lives!
Let's commit to allow God's presence in His House! Let's not take a single step without Him! Amen!
