Psalm 137:4 "How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?
They wept because...
1. They remembered their lost privileges
- expressed their yearning for freedom
- their longing for worship/fellowship
2. They are mourning because they didn't appreciate what they had
- in their depression, they hung up their harps - instruments for happy songs
"How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?"
- We too are in a foreign land...
- "This world is not my home, I'm just a-passing through, my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue: The angels beckon me from heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore."
God is still good, kind and in control! He is risen and He reigns, He is holy and mighty. My Saviour and Redeemer. His eye and mind is on me!
