Isaiah 43:15-19

"I am the Lord, your Holy One,
    Israel’s Creator, your King.”

16 This is what the Lord says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses,
    the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland."

God wants to do a new thing in you and in your family, in your church, town and community!!

God has New challenges and New victories for us - BUT we usually want to hang on to the new and comfortable.

  • We are often creatures of habit and want to stick with what we know - we want to risk less and do little of what is new and uncomfortable.
  • We say we want God to do a new thing but then we resist it kicking and screaming!

"Retired" - getting tired over and over! (haha)

  • Do I want to Retire or "Re-purpose"??

4 Steps to Allow God to do New Things in You:

1. Be Comfortable with who you are

  • Be comfortable but not content/complacent...
  • Dont get stagnant/stuck in a rut
  • ("Jack of all trades but master of none")
  • God has made you perfect for what He's called you to do!
  • There are things God has called you to do that no one else can do in quite the same way

2. Looking to Change

  • Who I was yesterday or yesteryear will not allow me to do what God has for me today or tomorrow or next year.
  • He wants to grow, shape and develope you continually!

3. Look to be Challenged

  • To do things outside your normal abilities or skillset
  • "If you're already walking on water, it doesn't really matter how deep it is beneath your feet."

You accomplish the impossible by doing the attainable and comfortable...!

4. Look for the Comfortable because it will help you accomplish the Impossible...

  • "How do you eat an elephant? > One bite at a time!"
  • Do what you can... little by little...step by step...
  • Don't get stuck in old ruts
  • You could change someone's life by stepping out of the boat and getting out of your comfort zone
  • The you will be an overcomer!

Revelation 21:1-7  "Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children."

*Dare to be different!  Reach out and do something New!  Be unique!  God wants to do something NEW in You!
