"Go Further" - Pastor Ben Kellert

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 (Communion & Baptism Sunday)

Matthew 26:36-39  "Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” ³⁷ He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. ³⁸ Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

³⁹ Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Matthew 5:41  "If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles."

We must be willing to go further... do more for others and in our relationship with God... Go deeper... Go the extra mile.

What now? 

• You asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life... fantastic!
• What now?  
• Go further!

What is the Lord speaking to you about this morning?

What is the "further" that He's laying on your heart?

Jesus kept going a little bit further until He went all the way to the cross and was able to say "It is Finished!"

But, you are not finished yet! You still have further to go!

If you're not dead, your not done!

1 Corinthians 14:1 "Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy."

Go further - God has more for you!

Pray and Ask: "Jesus, what's next?  What is it you have for me... what is my "further" Where do you want me to go? What do you want me to do?"
