"How God Approaches" - Guest Speaker: Pastor Paul Fraser
Sunday, November 23rd, 2025 - Bethel Pentecostal Church, Barrhead, AB
- God's heart towards you is humility and love
- He longs to know you - it's not a forced relationship.
- We are as full of Him as we want to be.
- We don't fully know how good God is - He's way better than we think!
The Priestly Blessing - Numbers 6:23-27
23 “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
24 “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ 27 “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
God never changes - He is the same yesterday, today and forever!
"The Lord bless you..."
- Declarative
- He will bless you no matter what you do
- Personal (the Lord bless YOU)
- Bless (Barak) - to bow or extend gifts - kneeling, humility
- healing, mercy and gracey
- He humbled Himself even to the point of death on a cross
"...and keep you..."
- Sheep are prone to wander - they are not smart and have no defense mechanisms
- God "keeps" and protects us like a shepherd keeps and protects his sheep
- Praying a "hedge of protection" (with 3 inch thorns!)
"The Lord make His Face shine on you..."
- I am loved and accepted by God
- He is shining on me!
"...and be gracious to you..."
- Thank you for your Amazing Grace and mercy
- Mercy = not getting what I deserve (punishment)
- Grace = getting what I don't deserve (blessing/salvation)
"The Lord turn His face toward you"
- The father runs to the prodigal son
- He seeks us out to rescue us (leaving the 99 to find us)
- He pursues us relentlessly
"...and give you peace"
- the shoes of the gospel of peace
- God wants to strengthen your walk
- the shalom of God (His peace)
- Your kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven
- Peace in every area of your life
Debar Shalom:
- nothing broken in you
- nothing damaged in you
- nothing missing in you
- That's the Shalom of God
*Remember: "You are as close to Jesus as you want to be!"*
Psalm 42:11
- "Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God."
