Zephaniah 3:16-17
"On that day
they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
1. His Presence brings Strength
- John 3:17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
- Romans 8:37 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
- Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
2. His Presence brings Victory
- The Lord your God is with you - He is Mighty to Save!
- Matthew 28:20b "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Romans 8:31 "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
- We don't even know how many things God saves us from every day!
3. He lavishes us with Peace & Love
- "He will quiet you with His Love"
- You are so special to Him - He takes great delight in you.
- Think about how proud you feel when your kids do something great... the one who formed you in your mother's womb, He takes delight in you.
*It's not enough that He abides with us and that He delights in us, that He quiets us with His love; But the sight of you brings a song to His heart and mouth.*
- 1 John 4:10 "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
- Your Heavenly Father is delighted with you!
4. He will Rejoice over you with Singing
- The sight of you brings a song to His heart and mouth
- Our desire to express our love through song comes from our Creator who sings over us!
- Hebrews 2:12 "He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises."
