"May My Prayer Be Like Incense" | Pastor Ben Kellert

Sunday, November 9th, 2025

Psalm 141:2  “May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.”

Revelation 5:8 “And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”

Revelation 8:3-4 “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.”

Incense is:

  1. A symbol of Acceptance
  2. Connected to Worship
  3. An encouragement in prayer

  • Your prayers are cherished by our Heavenly Father.

James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

God knows where you are!

  • He sees you
  • He knows you
  • His ear is attentive to your prayer.
  • God knows you and where you are and what you are doing every minute of every day!
