"The Secret to Success" | Pastor Devon Martinsen | January 1, 2023

1 Timothy 4:6-10

  •  If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. 10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

Are you taking care of yourself?  Of your priorities in life? Of your Family?

How much time should we spend on each activity in the day and week?

Create a schedule and plan your day...

*The Secret to Success is...

*Make a Plan or Plan to Fail!

  1. Start with one step
  2. Be Consistent!
  3. Get a Partner (accountability)

It's not that you don't have time, it's just that you're not managing your time properly!  (We all have the same 24 hours in the day)

If you don't Make the Time, you'll never have it!

1. Start with one step...

  • How do you eat an Elephant?  One bite at a time!

2. Be Consistent

  • When you fail or miss it, you still try again!  Don't give up!

3. Get a Partner

  • We were never meant to do this alone!
  • Too much time alone isn't good for us.  It makes us selfish and grumpy.
  • We are made for community!
  • Too much alone time kills our spiritual life.  We need fellowship with other believers to help us stay encouraged.
  • A partner will help you stay on track, keep you accountable and help you keep your priorities straight.

Challenge:

  • Make a list!  Things you do in your day and week regularly...
  • Then Ask God, "Where am I spending my time that's meant to be with you?"
